Cranial Orthosis
Cranial Orthotics
Cranial helmets are specialized orthotic devices used to treat infant head shape deformities such as plagiocephaly, brachycephaly, and scaphocephaly. They gently guide skull growth into a natural shape by applying light, targeted pressure to prominent areas while leaving space where growth is needed.
Who Can Benefit:
- Infants with flat head syndrome (positional plagiocephaly)
- Infants with asymmetrical skull shapes
- Babies with brachycephaly (shortened back of the head) or scaphocephaly (long, narrow head)
Benefits:
- Corrects skull shape effectively and safely
- Protects the skull while improving appearance
- Comfortable for extended wear
- Non-invasive treatment with high success rates
- Typical treatment duration: 3–4 months, depending on age and severity

- 3D Assessment & Scan: Precise measurement of the infant’s skull for custom fitting.
- Start Helmet Therapy: Initiated if no improvement is seen by 5 months of age.
- Custom Helmet Fabrication: Helmet ready within approximately 2 weeks.
- Follow-Ups:
- 1 week after fitting
- 2 weeks after fitting
- Then every 4 weeks to monitor progress and adjust fit
